ng homes, tenants, residents and local partners came together this past Saturday (29 August) for the annual Springburn Community Street Festival. We were delighted to take part again this year with our stall set along the main walkway, supporting a day packed with fun, activity and community spirit.
Working alongside partners including Spirit of Springburn, our staff attended the festival equipped with new marketing and promotional materials, taking the opportunity to connect with tenants, residents and the local community throughout the day.
The event featured a wide range of free sports and physical activities delivered in partnership with Glasgow Life at Springburn Sports Centre. Activities included pilot Learn to Ride sessions, family multi-sports and introductory tennis sessions supported by Tennis Scotland, giving people of all ages the chance to get involved and try something new.
Scottish Cycling also joined the celebrations, bringing BMX bikes and ramps to offer local young people an exciting free ‘Come & Try’ experience. Younger children enjoyed visits from popular character mascots, alongside face painting and glitter art sessions which were funded by ng homes.
The festival provided a fantastic opportunity to engage with the community, promote healthy and active lifestyles, and strengthen local partnerships. This year’s event lucked out with dry summer weather, attracting many residents from across the area and highlighted the positive impact that collaborative community events can have.
The day was another example of our ongoing commitment to supporting local communities, creating opportunities for tenants and residents to connect, and helping make Springburn (and North Glasgow) a vibrant place to live, work and play.
