Helpful information - Festive Refuse Collection
As we look forward towards the festive period, it’s important to keep in mind that the collection day for your bins may be affected if it falls on a public holiday. If your bins are normally collected on a Wednesday or Thursday, please note the change in dates as listed below:
For households with a brown bin and a garden permit, real Christmas trees can be placed in your bin for kerbside collection. Please ensure they are cut up and that the bin can close properly. Remember the change of date if your scheduled collection falls on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day and 2 January.
There is also information on bulk/excess waste, arrangements for flatted properties as well as what residents can do if they want to recycle a real Christmas tree. Find out more about festive refuse collection on the council's website.
Winter Gritting - It’s always a good idea to keep in mind where the nearest grit bin is. Find more on Glasgow City Council's plans for winter gritting and how they will keep the city moving here.
Grit bins - helpful information on locating your nearest grit bin. You can also fill out a form to request a refill of grit through the council website.
