New Training Programme for Pupils in North Glasgow

Content:

That the Parliament notes that North Glasgow Housing Association's Training Academy in Springburn has established a new training and volunteering programme for local school pupils; understands that the programme provides young people with the opportunity to achieve a Volunteering Skills Award; welcomes the backing given to the programme by Glasgow City Council, which has accepted it as an official legacy programme as part of the Commonwealth Games Legacy for Glasgow; believes that event management skills will be much in demand in the future, not least at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games; considers that the training programme will prepare young people for the opportunities that will exist in the future; congratulates North Glasgow Housing Association on establishing the programme, and, wishes the pupils from Springburn Academy who are involved in the programme every success for the future.
