Heading:

Springburn Academy Pupils Achieve Success in Biomass Project

Content:

That the Parliament recognises the achievements of second year pupils from Springburn Academy in Glasgow involved in the Go4SET project who recently received a certificate at the University of Strathclyde for their work; notes that the project challenged pupils to research a biomass-fuelled renewables electricity and heat plant for their school, provide a written report on their findings and produce a model; acknowledges the support that the young people received from North Glasgow Housing Association;  believes that opportunities like this encourages young people to study subjects such as science and maths so that they may consider a career in engineering, as well as making them think about finding new ways of saving energy, and congratulates the pupils on their success with the project.
